It takes a Village
Pago, derived from the Latin word ‘pagus’, meaning a small hamlet or village.
Over the years, I’ve really built my Little Black Book of favourite brands, it’s truly a designers secret weapon and essential for creating breathtaking interiors, and recently I’ve come across an incredible company that aligns with all of my company values - Pago & Co.
The name of this family-run business was selected from an old saying-
Pago or ‘pagus’ is Latin for village, so rather than “it takes a village to raise a child”,
the Pago & Co twist is, “it takes a village to raise a brand”
The owner, Amanda Yewdall, left the corporate world behind to create this artisanal gift box company. The ethos of Pago & Co. focuses on proudly supporting Australian-made brands, particularly those local to the Sutherland Shire, where the business is based.
The same way I source mostly Australian furniture for my clients (those who know me, know I love local brands like Jardan and Inartisan), Amanda selects high-quality pieces from local brands which tell a story, a unique story… and this adds so much more than the gift itself. I’m passionate about working with trades and companies local to the Shire myself, and I love the energy and the familiarity this brings to my work. We all feel like we’re on the same team, helping each other to achieve our own business aspirations.
I really resonate with Pago & Co., because it’s far more than a service. Through my interiors and Amanda's gift boxes, we both prioritise supporting Australian products and providing a meaningful solution for our clients. There is real intention to make a difference through our work. It was only natural we came together over Christmas to develop a Sarah Yarrow Interiors gift box! Amanda provided an incredible selection of Australian goodies in beautiful packaging along with an interior service voucher, and those who received my boxes just loved them!
I love when I cross paths with small companies and products which align with everything I support and represent in my own work. Our commitment to our own values becomes stronger, and our wider community has a new service or product in circulation that will only benefit them even more so. This is the power of small business partnerships!
